I had a dinner alone last night at Mid Valley. Again? Yes.. my Honey Bun said that I have to learn to be independent (and alone) in which I always am.
And since I got a 10 ringgit meal voucher at Manhattan Fish Market I decided to have the solo-dinner there.
So I went there. Alone. And ask for a table for one.
For a franchise restaurant like this I was expecting a professional hospitality like generous reception, friendly waiters and yes, they ARE friendly, but in an awkward manner. And I felt awkward for having to dine alone!
Hey I have taken lunch at Laksa Shack alone before. I had a dinner at Nando's all by myself last two weeks. And also at McDonalds sometimes ago. But nobody seemed care. And I didn't too.
But last night, all the waiters stared at me as if it is something terribly wrong for having to eat alone. What were on their mind? What were they thinking? Two of them even talked to each other while smirking to me. Hey, this is too much. Oh, ngumpat saya yer! If it's not because of the salmon grill, I would have walked away.
The waiter asked me for a drink, but I said it's okay because I have my own drink (yes, I managed to fill up my bottle with ice lemon tea from the gym).
"Are you sure you don't want any drink?"
"Yes, I'm sure,"
"What about a plain water?" One of them was getting ready to fill up a glass with ice. And I said,
"No, I don't drink cold water,"
"What about warm water?"
"No, thanks,"
"I'm afraid you'll be choking..."
I didn't hear the rest of the words. Didn't you get it? I don't WANT any drink! Again, all the waiters were looking at me because I ordered a Salmon Grill without A DRINK! That lonely girl was eating a Salmon Grill WITHOUT a drink - a pathetic episode...
Well, what is it like to have a meal alone at a restaurant? I used to feel awkward and pathetic because I had never dine out alone. I would feel everyone was watching me and say, "Pity you, because you have to eat alone. You don't have friends and families with you. Look at me, I have my dear boyfriend eating with me. I'm better than you, so everyone likes me." Funny but that was the feeling anyway. But not now. I'm cool with eating out alone.
There was once when I had a lunch at Laksa Shack all by myself. While I was indulging my Laksa Sarawak, I noticed that a guy was passing by my table and asked for a tissue paper from the counter. Later I was suprised to see a tissue paper was placed right beside my laksa. I didn't turn around to see that guy (but I wished I had a rear-view mirror so that I could see him..hehe)
At first I thought I was given a tissue because I had a spot of chilli or gravy on my mouth or any kesan-kesan comot on my face. So I just ignored the tissue because I already had one. But later my Honey Bun said that was an old-school style to give out phone number to strangers. Hahah.. itu macam kaa.. I wonder what was written on the tissue..

Lamb Madness

My powerful desire for lamb continues eventhough the month of Ramadhan has long gone. I never say 'no' to my collegues who always ask me for a superlicious lamb course for lunch or dinner. But this time I had to let go because I'm broke!! I totally am!
Well, I had to tell the truth that I am broke because that's the only reason my collegue would believe if I refused. (daym, my freaking salary was paid too early) The place recommended was at Al-Rawsha, Jalan Damai, Ampang. It's a cosy Lebanese restaurant.
No.. I can't afford to have it at this moment. It was a great temptation though as my collegues kept asking me to join the group, and the images of lamb slices kept popping out of my head, sometimes it turned to lamb shank, lamb kebab.. My empty stomach made a growling sound.. and yet, I still refused the offer. I'm broke, okay!
So they went down the office and ready to go. But Kak D made the effort to call me for the last time.. "Ala.. tak apa, takde duit takpe, meh la join skali, jom la, jom la!" See, I'm not the one who's craving for lamb okay, I just didn't have the heart to turn down the invitation.... heheheh
We had Lamb Mandy (it just reminded me of Mandy Moore, funny) for everyone of us, except Kak D. (it's the lamb cooked together with the rice). We also had Arabian Salad (the usual salad with olive oil) and Mayonaisse Salad (just like normal coleslow). And all of us decided to have the Al-Rawsha cocktail (mix of fruits like mango, banana, avocado etc) which was a bad decision! The cocktail was verrrryyyy thick and sweet, just like smoothies and you never know how it feels to finish it all up after having a heavy lamb meal. I should have had an iced lemon tea instead.

Bulgy-looking skinny lady
If these statement are true, they are the most heart-breaking facts I've ever heard!!!
"When you start losing fat, your genes also determine where fat comes off first. Your body may naturally store more fat in the stomach area. So if your body decides that your stomach it is the last place to lose fat, it will be significantly harder to burn of."
"Everyone is different and some people can be skinny and still have a bulge in the lower stomach area. This can be due to different body shapes determined by our genetics. In this rare case liposuction can be the best way of getting rid of that fat."

Ahahahah... Liposuction? Hell no! I'm insulted by the later but all I can do is just laugh out loud because I think it's funny. Funny. The skinny person with a bulging lower stomach. And that person is me!! Ahahaha...
But I think I'm not that skinny. I'm just small. I'm genetically defined as a small-framed being, which makes me looks skinny, underweight, but I'm not! Oh don't freak out babe... Cool..
No matter what the genetics say about me, I still hafta sign up for a fitness session at a nearby gym.
See if it's still bulging or not!
